The Ikimetsä collection features handcrafted ceramic sculptures and containers designed by Matias Karsikas. The animal forms are inspired by his grandfather’s hand-carved wooden figures, continuing a family tradition of craftsmanship rooted in the forest.
Each piece begins with hand-made molds and is then shaped, finished, and glazed through several stages of handwork. There is no automated production - every Ikimetsä jar is made individually. The result is a ceramic object that functions both as a practical container and a sculptural artwork.
Made by hand in Finland, every Ikimetsä piece is unique. Natural tones, lively ceramic surfaces, and individual glazing give each sculpture its own character. Designed to be displayed as part of the interior, the jars can be used to store small objects or simply enjoyed as ceramic art.
Ikimetsä means ancient forest in Finnish, reflecting a deep connection to Nordic nature and quiet strength. The collection brings a sense of calm, timeless forest presence into the home - objects made to last and to be lived with.
